Blood Elf Hunter or Pally?

My friend and I started playing WoW recently as Blood Elves, he is a Pally and I'm a Hunter. I already had a level 20 BE Pally, but I decided since he was new to WoW I'd help him quest by making a new BE Hunter, reading a lot about BE Hunters i'm wondering if I should reconsider, just continue to 70 with the Hunter, or stick it out until we're both 20 then switch to my Pally, or would this be a waste/pointless having 2 Pallys for raids and such. Thoughts? F.Y.I, I don't know that much about WoW.
