Orange/red lights in the sky?

So tonight at like 10pm I looked out the window and saw an orangy light. It looks maybe like a street light in the sky but smaller. It really freaked me out some say it was a UFO or a weather balloon. After doing some research I came across the Chinese Lantern and I was convince it was that but after reading some stuff people said they usually see more than just one with it. It was high in the sky, went away like maybe moved behind trees and than saw it again and than it was gone. So was it a Chinese Lantern? Or what else could it be?
